LOCATION: Kikuyu (Kenya HQ) | Full Time (1 year contract)

Grounded is a women-run manufacturer of non-toxic cleaning products powered by Kenyan ingredients. Founded in 2017, we manufacture over 50 products to convert homes and businesses to the new clean.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a proactive, people-loving HR Associate to join our team and help shape the next phase of our people journey. This is a high-exposure role perfect for someone early in their HR career who is eager to learn, roll up their sleeves, and grow into a future HR leader.

You’ll work closely with the People Lead and Operations Manager, supporting the full HR function while learning the foundations of building strong culture, people systems, and  modern HR operations in a fast-paced environment.

This is a hands-on role that requires curiosity, discipline, and a willingness to learn — with mentorship and a clear growth path.

What You’ll Do

HR Operations & Administration:

  • Maintain accurate employee records
  • Coordinate payroll inputs and benefits
  • Ensure compliance with Kenyan labour laws
  • Manage and keep employee data up to date

Recruitment & Onboarding:

  • Support end-to-end recruitment for a variety of roles
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand needs
  • Deliver smooth, structured, and welcoming onboarding experiences

Employee Engagement & Culture Support:

  • Support performance review cycles.
  • Support engagement initiatives, team events, and communications
  • Be a trusted point of contact for employee queries
  • Help build a positive, respectful workplace culture

HR Projects & Continuous Improvement:

  • Improve people processes and HR workflows.

Who We’re Looking For:

Someone who is:

  • Early in their HR career (2+ years preferred)
  • Organized, meticulous, and reliable
  • A strong communicator who truly enjoys people
  • Comfortable in a dynamic, fast-moving environment
  • Eager to build a long-term HR career
  • A problem-solver who thinks in systems
  • Business-minded and data-oriented

Must-Haves:

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or similar
  • Knowledge of Kenyan labour laws
  • HRIS experience
  • Strong administrative discipline
  • High integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
