Job Summary

We are seeking an Advocacy & Events Community Manager to join our team.

This role will act as the day-to-day face of the community, responsible for designing and executing impactful engagement campaigns and community events.

The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys building communities, solving problems, and working in dynamic environments. You should be comfortable operating in a fast-paced global organization and passionate about delivering operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Community Strategy & Engagement

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with community members.

  • Serve as the primary communication bridge between the community and internal teams.

  • Foster meaningful dialogue and engagement within the community.

Engagement & Content Strategy

  • Create and curate engaging content such as newsletters, blog posts, discussion prompts, and FAQs.

  • Maintain the community playbook, including tone of voice, engagement policies, moderation guidelines, and escalation processes.

Events & Advocacy

  • Plan and execute both in-person and virtual community events in collaboration with community ambassadors.

  • Represent Andela at community events and meetings.

  • Act as a key contact point for community members and respond to inquiries in a timely manner.

Data & Collaboration

  • Work with the Community Senior Manager to gather and analyze feedback from community members.

  • Use insights to support organizational decision-making.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure services effectively support the community.

Program Management

  • Manage and support the Champions and Innovators programs.

  • Empower participants to lead initiatives that strengthen the community.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in community management, marketing, or a related field focused on building and nurturing communities.

  • Experience managing programs or initiatives that empower others, such as volunteer or ambassador programs.

  • Proven ability to design and execute content strategies, engagement campaigns, and community playbooks.

  • Strong event planning and execution skills for both virtual and in-person initiatives.

  • Ability to manage multiple conversations, platforms, and projects simultaneously.

  • Experience using CRM systems and online community platforms such as Discourse, Circle, or Slack.

  • Familiarity with customer feedback tools and analytics platforms.

  • Experience using tools such as Google Analytics, Looker, or platform insights to measure engagement and inform strategy.

Preferred Requirements

  • Background in the technology industry or strong interest in software development.

  • Experience in brand advocacy or public relations.

  • Strong ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
