Research Assistant
Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) is hiring a Research Assistant for its Regional Programme Economy Africa, based in Nairobi. This role is ideal for a highly analytical professional with a strong background in economics, trade, or social sciences, looking to contribute to regional policy, research, and programme implementation. You will support research, stakeholder engagement, and programme coordination across Sub-Saharan Africa, working at the intersection of economic development, governance, and international cooperation.

to support its Regional Programme on Economy Africa

Your Responsibilities:
- Conceptual as well as organisational planning, implementation and follow-up of activities of the Regional Programme Economy Africa
- Follow-up and analysis of current developments in the sector of economy and trade, in the region as well as internationally
- Write and edit scientific articles and texts (English and preferably German)
- Identify project opportunities, new partners and liaise with them
- Manage regular communications with programme partners, participants and other stakeholders and maintain database
- Coordinate overall visibility and outreach activities, including website and social media updates
- Monitor and evaluate activities
This position requires traveling in Sub-Saharan Africa, including weekends and weeknights.
Your Profile:
- A university degree (Master/PhD) in economics, political or social sciences or related field
- Strong background in trade, economy and related areas
- Demonstrated experience in programme coordination and project implementation
- Fluency in English, sound knowledge of German and/or French would be an asset
- Excellent communication skills
- Working experience in Africa would be an asset
