Career Transition Officer – Kajiado

Location: Kajiado, Kenya
Contract: Full-Time, 1-Year Fixed-Term
Reports to: Program Lead

HELGA is seeking a Career Transition Officer to support young women transitioning from skills training into employment, internships and entrepreneurship opportunities under the HER Lab Program.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the establishment and management of a Career Resource Center.
• Provide career coaching and vocational counselling to young women aged 18–35.
• Facilitate career transition workshops and group coaching sessions.
• Conduct mock interviews, CV/resume writing and job application sessions.
• Map internship, employment and entrepreneurship opportunities.
• Coordinate internship placements and support participants during transition.
• Support participants to identify viable employment or enterprise pathways.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Career Counselling, Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Education or related field.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in programme implementation and youth career coaching.
• Experience designing career transition programmes and coordinating internships.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Career Coaching/Counselling certification is desirable.
• Experience working in ASAL communities is an advantage.
• Ability to speak Swahili and a local dialect is desirable.
